Picture this: you’re spending a day on the Jersey Shore and lunchtime is approaching. You haven’t brought anything to eat but your stomach is growling.
Gathering all your stuff and walking home is a real hassle, wouldn’t you like an easier solution?
Imagine that a boat comes right next to you and throws a hot dog at you. This is now a reality in South Jersey.
Introducing Sandbar Joe’s Floating Food Boat.
This restaurant on the waves is here to give you the comfort food you crave and you don’t even have to leave the water!
According to their sitethe restaurant is
“a full-service floating concession stand that also offers dockside concierge service”, and it’s the first of its kind in Cape May County.
That’s right, they will deliver your food straight to the ocean!
You can choose from hot dogs, coleslaw, tacos, mac and cheese and a variety of specialties including chicken skewers, meatball subs, barbecue ribs, chicken salad , shrimp cocktail, pulled pork sliders and Philly soft pretzels.
“When a lot of boaters go out, they have coolers and bring their own drinks,” owner Joe Gratz says nj.com. “Everyone is looking for an easy snack, which is really our business model. How can we get out quickly and serve people in the water for lunch or dinner early? »
The boat makes its way from Thursday to Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It has occupied Cape May waters since June and has been a hit with visitors to the Jersey Shore.
You can find them in the back bays or in Hereford’s Inlet.
