(WFXR) – On Thursday, December 30, the Virginia Lottery released its sports betting activity figures for the month of November – the tenth full month of reporting since the launch of legal sports betting in Virginia on January 21.

According to the Virginia Lottery, between November 1 and November 30, Virginians wagered $ 402,621,132. The figure follows the record October since sports betting began in Virginia less than a year ago.

Since its inception, punters in Virginia have wagered a total of over $ 2.7 billion on a wide variety of approved sporting events. During the month of November, bettors in Virginia won a total of $ 354,284,095 for a combined winning percentage of 12.01 percent from operators.

The ten licensed operators included in the November report were FanDuel in partnership with Washington Football Team, Draft Kings, BetMGM LLC, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, Caesars Virginia LLC, WSI US, LLC (Wynn), Unibet Interactive, Inc ., Penn Sports Interactive LLC. , Golden Nugget Online Gaming VA, LLC and Twin River Management (Bally’s Corporation). A list of all licensed operators can be found here.

Virginia law imposes a 15% tax on sports betting activities based on the adjusted gross income (AGR) of each licensee, defined as total bets less total winnings and other allowable deductions. Operators reported nearly $ 15 million in free play bonuses and incentives in November.

Of the 15% state tax on AGR sports betting, 97.5% must be deposited into the General State Fund and 2.5% must be deposited into the Administered Problem Gambling Support and Treatment Fund by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health.
