subsidiary of JVH obtains a Dutch igaming license | Licence

JOI Gaming, a division of the Dutch land-based casino operator JVH Gaming & Entertainment Group, has obtained an online gambling license in the Netherlands.

Issued by the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the new license will allow JOI Gaming to offer games of chance via the Internet.

The license went into effect on November 20, with JOI Gaming to operate the game through Jacks.nl in the Netherlands. JOI Gaming also owns the brands Jack’s, Jack’s Casino, Jack’s Casino & Sports and Jack’s Sports, with its sports betting offer powered by Kambi.

JVH operates a network of 85 land-based casinos across the country under the names of Jack’s Casino, Flash Casino’s and Flamingo Casino.

The Netherlands opened its regulated online gambling market on October 1, paving the way for players in the county to place legal sports bets and play online casino games.

The market was launched with 10 first licensees, including Bet365, the UK bingo operator Tombola, which has since been acquired by Flutter, Play North, the Dutch land operator Holland Casino and the state lottery Nederlandse Loterij with its brand. Toto Online.

The Janshen Hahnraths group with Italy-based FPO Nederland, Betent, Belgian brand Bingoal, NSUS Malta, which manages the GGPoker.eu brand and sports media and betting company LiveScore Malta have also obtained licenses. However, a number of leading operators have seen their entry into the market delayed due to the passive acceptance of bets from Dutch players, including Entain, Kindred Group, 888, Betsson, Leovegas and Casumo.

Speaking as the market opened, KSA President Rene Jansen said he expected more operators to jump in, with a number of pending license applications.

JOI Gaming recently partnered with Holland Casino, FPO Nederland, Nederlandse Loterij and ZEbet to form a new professional online gaming association in the form of Vergunde Nederlandse Online Kansspelaanbieders (VNLOK).

Last month, VNLOK partnered with cross-sectoral body VAN Kansspelen to work together to create a new code of conduct for advertising in the Netherlands.
