ATLANTIC CITY, NJ, Sept. 02, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Should casinos continue to allow smoking? Are there any advantages for smoke-free casinos? These questions will be among those discussed by a panel of experts at the East Coast Gaming Congress and NexGen Gaming Forum, September 21-23 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Since New Jersey removed casinos from the statewide indoor smoking ban, employees have advocated for the exemption to be removed, while casino operators said a smoking ban would lead to significant revenue losses and job cuts. Pennsylvania also allows smoking in casinos, although its main casino – Parx – has opted to remain smoke-free since reopening after the pandemic shutdown. Delaware’s casinos have been smoke-free since 2002. What’s the most likely – and best – path for New Jersey, Pennsylvania and others to address this very sensitive issue?
“Gaming revenue going up in smoke? The panel will be moderated by Joseph Weinert, Executive Vice President, Spectrum Gaming Group, on Thursday, September 22. Panelists will include:
