Playtech Launches New Ontario Partnerships Following Regulations

London, April 12, 2022 – Playtech, the global gaming technology leader, today announced the launch of several partnerships in Ontario.

The partnerships, which are launching with RNG Casino and Live, quickly followed by the full platform, went live on day one of the market opening last week.

Ontario is the newest regulated market in North America since the Ontario Gaming Commission licensed a number of providers. Playtech will announce a new wave of partnerships in Ontario in the coming weeks. The new regulatory framework in Ontario will ensure high standards in a number of areas, including responsible gambling, where clear policies and procedures to identify, prevent and minimize the risk of gambling-related harms and mechanisms to monitor profiles player risk will be required.

Shimon Akad, COO at Playtech, said: “This is a significant market size and a major milestone for Playtech in North America. We are thrilled to have launched with multiple licensees on day one and look forward to continuing to launch with more of our partners in We also expect Ontario to be at the forefront of responsible gambling, where our technology and our ability, through artificial intelligence, to analyze the behavior of certain players will be particularly relevant and important.

Playtech has already been active in Ontario through its work with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, to which it has provided, among other things, data analytics technology.

Charmaine Hogan, Regulatory Affairs Manager at Playtech says “As we continue to improve our efforts on the sustainability of the gaming industry in general, we wholeheartedly welcome the launch of the iGaming market in Ontario. An effective regulatory framework puts operators and providers under local scrutiny and, as is the case in Ontario, with an emphasis on player protection from the start.

At Playtech, artificial intelligence is used to enable early analysis of player behavior and flag signs of problem gambling, and to engage with these players, in-game and in a personalized way, using tools automated and personalized messages. We offer our technology, our tools, as well as our experience to all, and although adoption is with operators, we want to see a more responsible and sustainable entertainment industry in the long term. And we aim to continue to engage, wherever we can, with all interested parties and to share best practices as well as the results of our research.”
