The comedy: Bill Burr is one of the industry’s most recognizable comedians. He performed at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Royal Albert Hall in London. He will visit arenas and amphitheaters later this year and perform Saturday at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
Burr also created the Netflix animated comedy series “F Is for Family” and provided the voice of lead character Frank Murphy. He has also appeared in several TV shows and movies such as “Daddy’s Home” and “The King of Staten Island”.

Canadian singer Maria Schafer has been featured on Southern California jazz station KJazz 88.1 FM and has mastered the sounds of acoustic folk, Brazilian folk and contemporary jazz music.
She will perform Thursday at the Cascade Lounge at the Agua Caliente Casino in Palm Springs. She will be accompanied by her quintet, made up of a New Orleans jazz trumpeter and a lively rhythm section.

Disco: Bart Lounge in Cathedral City will host Disco Relief on Friday with DJs and producers Alex Harrington from La Quinta, Jesusdapnk from San Diego and Palm Springs and Millionsworld from Palm Springs playing house and disco music.
Harrington has performed seven times at the dance-themed Splash House music party and at clubs in Los Angeles, San Diego, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, and Seattle, and the camping area of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. in 2015.

Other country : When alt-country band Uncle Tupelo broke up in 1994, guitarist and vocalist Jeff Tweedy formed indie band Wilco, and guitarist and vocalist Jay Farrar continued down the alt-country path with Son Volt. 1995’s debut album “Trace” was a commercial and critical success. Son Volt released two more albums before the late 90s before going on hiatus until 2005.
His Volt continued to enjoy critical and commercial success, but fans hoping for an Uncle Tupelo reunion were disappointed by Farrar and Tweedy’s refusal to work together again. Son Volt will perform at Pappy and Harriet on Friday.

Pop: In 1984, Vanessa Williams was crowned Miss America, but she renounced her title following controversy over unauthorized nude photos published by Penthouse. But that didn’t stop her, and she went on to a successful career as a singer, actress, and fashion designer.
Her debut album ‘The Right Stuff’ in 1988 sold over 500,000 copies, but her second album ‘The Comfort Zone’ in 1991 included her hit single ‘Save the Best for Last’, which reached No. place on the Billboard Hot 100, Top Contemporary and Hot Adult R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Williams will perform at the McCallum Theater on Saturday.
